Every postal code within a given distance of a town, measured as a straight line between the coordinates on record.

How the distances are worked out

Each place has a position derived from the postal codes recorded against it. Distances are great-circle — straight line over the surface of the earth, not driving distance. For a town spread over a wide area the position is its centre, so treat short distances as approximate.
