How an address is written in China

This is the order China's postal service expects. Square brackets mark what you replace.

[Postal code (266033)]
[State][City][District]
[Street address]
[Recipient name]
CHINA

Note the order: the postal code comes first, before the region and street — the reverse of the Western convention.

A postal code is required in a complete China address.

Look up a specific address

For the code covering one particular street or building, China's postal service publishes an official finder: cpdc.chinapost.com.cn/web. It is authoritative and kept current, which third-party copies often are not.
